About 1,300 Indonesians being held in Malaysia`s Kajang prison

Some 1,300 of the 1,700 inmates of Malaysia`s Kajang state penitentiary in Selangor are Indonesian nationals, Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Da`i Bachtiar said. "We discovered this fact after one of the Indonesian prisoners asked for legal aid. After sending a team to Selangor, we learned that more than a thousand Indonesians are being held in the prison," said Bachtiar at a meeting with members of the Indonesian community in Penang on Monday evening. ... Pertamina grilled over fuel imports

In a warm-up session ahead of a lawmaker inquiry over the country's fuel management practices, a panel of experts hinted Thursday at some irregularities in the import of crude oil and fuel products by state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina. The company's partnership with oil brokers that have insufficient capacity, coupled with a lack of transparency in the import process, are blamed for causing imports of products more expensive than those of neighboring countries. ... Govt may ask banks to open on weekends
